5 Reasons Now is the Best Time to Make Your Travel Bucket List
- Where else are you going to go?
- It’s free.
- You need a distraction.
- Having a plan gets you closer to actually taking a trip.
- Do something else online instead of checking the news.
So, yes, now is a great time to start making your list of where you would most like to travel. Let’s narrow it down a bit so you know what kind of destinations you’re most likely to enjoy.

Take the short, 5-question quiz below to find out what kind of traveler you are and what kind of spots and activities you should look for.
Take The Quiz!
Okay, now with that knowledge you can narrow your focus a bit more with either a list that’s focused on destinations in your own country, around the world, or by theme. If you choose a theme bucket list it might look like having an adventure on every continent or visiting all the National Parks in the U.S. Something along those lines.
Dream Big!
Here’s where months (honestly, probably years) of reaching the end of the internet comes in handy: start searching for your destinations online. The best part is that you don’t have to quibble about logistics, you just need to find some destinations and attractions that stoke your curiosity and excite you to action.
Pinterest is a great search engine for these types of topics. Do one quick search and you can get ideas and information from myriad of bloggers with a vast array of interests. Even better, you get pictures and suggestions and strategies and reviews.
If you have a hobby you can also look at some of their sites to see if there are any big events or destination recommendations specific to your interest.
Or you can start with some of the sites I’ve come across over time. Somewhere between doing research for this blog and doing research for our various homeschool excursions, I compiled quite a list of blogs that write great content for local wanderers and global explorers.
I’ll narrow it down to 12 starters and you can launch from there! Go for it!
